Thanksgiving Essentials for the Best Thanksgiving Dinner Table
Make this thanksgiving dinner a hit! Learn how to create a beautiful holiday table with these simple, but elegant Thanksgiving essentials.
The colors of fall are so beautiful and create the perfect setting for a Thanksgiving feast! As you begin to plan your holiday menu, don’t forget about creating a beautiful tablescape. It will be the first thing your guests see when they arrive and will set the tone for the entire meal. Here are some simple, but elegant Thanksgiving essentials to help you get started.
Setting my table is one of my favorite things to do, it always welcomes your guests and shows them that you think they are special! I’ve sourced everything you’ll need in one place. Let’s get started!
Thanksgiving Essentials for the Table
No thanksgiving feast is complete without setting the table with some essentials. Plates, silverware, and glasses are the obvious choice for your thanksgiving spread, but there are a few other must-haves as well.
A centerpiece such as a festive floral arrangement or a decorative fall decoration can add some seasonal cheer to the table. I’ve decorated with several velvet pumpkins and magnolia leaves this year.
Additionally, don’t forget napkins and place cards for each guest.
Of course, what thanksgiving table would be complete without the traditional turkey carving set? These thanksgiving essentials will make your dinner spread truly memorable. Just don’t forget the gravy boat!

Place Settings
Undoubtedly, the first step in setting your Thanksgiving table is to choose your place settings. When you’re using china, go for a classic white set. Gold or silver accents would also look beautiful. What if you don’t have china? don’t worry! There are plenty of other options available that will still give your table an elegant look. Look for holiday-themed dishes or even solid-colored dishes in fall colors like orange, red, and yellow. Whatever dishes you choose, make sure they complement each other.
Dishes for the Holidays
A Thanksgiving table isn’t complete without some holiday-themed dishes! Whether you’re serving up pumpkin pie or cranberry sauce, make sure your food is served in style. With so many festive options to choose from these days, take your time and pick out something that reflects your personal taste. And don’t forget about those all-important serving pieces! Large platters and bowls always come in handy when hosting a big holiday meal.
Table Linens
Once you’ve chosen your place settings, it’s time to select your table linens. Again, white always looks classic and elegant. If you want to add a pop of color, consider using a patterned tablecloth or runner in fall colors. Plaid is also a popular pattern for the holidays. When it comes to napkins, you can either match them to your tablecloth or go for something contrasting. Consider using fabric napkins for a more formal look or paper napkins if you’re looking for something more casual.
Cookware You’ll Need
No matter what’s on the menu, you’ll need the right cookware to prepare everything. If you’re serving roast turkey or ham, you’ll need a roasting pan. For mashed potatoes, you’ll need a large pot. And don’t forget the pie plates if you’re planning on serving dessert! Whether you use metal cookware or ceramic, make sure it coordinates with the rest of your table setting. Many stores sell sets that include matching dishes and cookware, which can make setting your table a breeze!
Once the table has been set and dinner is served, we always love to sip on this after dinner. Another favorite dessert to make is my delicious cappuccino bars.
Thanksgiving is such a special time of year to gather with family and friends around the table for a delicious meal. What’s your favorite holiday?

Creating a beautiful Thanksgiving table is easy with just a few simple essentials. By choosing festive place settings, holiday-themed dishes, and coordinating cookware, you can easily transform your dining room table into a stunning showpiece that will impress your guests!
